More Pitch Wars Stuff

The Pitch Wars mentees are being announced this THURSDAY! It feels like just yesterday the submission window opened. That’s probably because I’ve read over 6,000 pages since it did. 6,000 pages of pure awesomeness.

If you’re one of the 21 I requested a full from, you’ll be getting definite feedback. Some of you will be getting full-on edit letters, the length depends on how much I have to say on your book. Just know that the choice is incredibly hard. It was difficult to whittle 21 down to 9 and will be even more difficult whittling 9 down to 1.

If I didn’t request a full from you, after the mentees are announced on the 25th, I’m picking a name randomly from my maybe or no pile and inviting them to send me their full for feedback. If your name is drawn, I’ll send you an email and you can accept or decline the offer. If the first name drawn doesn’t want it, I’ll pull another name. If I draw a name and that person has already gotten feedback from another mentor, that’s okay, you can still send it to me. The only people exempt from this are the ones who submitted to me and were picked by other mentors. I’ll announce on Twitter who the winner is.

My first duty will be to my mentee so for those who have fulls with me, and the person whose name I draw, please be patient with me. There’s a lot to do and I have so many thoughts on all these books. I wish I could take all of you into the contest with me, but I can’t. You guys blew me away with your writing and I feel so lucky that you guys chose to submit to me.
